Palace View Bar

Beijing is a busy city of 15 million. Cars, bikes, carts, pedestrians...but there also many quiet corners. Deep in the hutongs, the many parks of various sizes and now this rather decadent rooftop bar, appropriately called the "Palace View Bar" for its bird's eye view over the vast expanse of the Forbidden City. It is located at the top of the Beijing Hotel, right on the main road through the center of town.

A beer costs RMB 45, but it is a wonderful spot to relax, watch the sunset and chat with friends...elegant marble floors, romantic night lighting, soft October nights and a very calm and uncrowded environment...

This evening, I was there with neighbors from the Lee Garden.
